High Quality Manganese Sand

Manganese sand is produced through mining, concentrating, and roasting natural manganese ores. The largest manganese ore reserves are located in South Africa, Australia, Gabon, Brazil and China.

After mining, the ore undergoes crushing and washing to remove debris. Magnetic and gravity separation techniques upgrade the ore concentrate to over 40% manganese content.

The concentrated ore is then roasted in kilns at 800-1000°C to oxidize the manganese into various oxide forms like pyrolusite (MnO2) and hausmannite (Mn3O4). This activates the sand's pollutant oxidation capabilities.

The roasted material is ground into uniformly sized sand particles between 0.5-2mm for effective microbial adhesion and flow in filters. Quality control ensures optimal activity levels.
