The quartz sand filter equipment has the characteristics of simple structure, automatic control during operation, high processing flow rate, few backwashing times, high filtration efficiency, low resistance, and convenient operation and maintenance. Quartz sand filter has the advantages of fast filtration speed, high filtration accuracy, and large interception capacity. Widely used in various processes such as power, electronics, beverages, tap water, petroleum, chemicals, metallurgy, textiles, papermaking, food, swimming pools, municipal engineering, etc., for pre-treatment of water, domestic water, recycled water, and wastewater.
1. Structure and function of quartz sand filter
Quartz sand filter is a type of filter that uses quartz sand as the filter material. It has advantages such as low filtration resistance, large specific surface area, strong acid and alkaline resistance, oxidation resistance, pH applicability range of 2-13, and good pollution resistance. The unique advantage of quartz sand filter is that it achieves adaptive operation of the filter by optimizing the design of the filter material and filter. The filter material has strong adaptability to the concentration of raw water, operating conditions, pre-treatment process, etc., that is, the filter bed automatically forms an upper sparse and lower dense state during filtration, It is beneficial to ensure the effluent quality under various operating conditions, and the filter material is fully dispersed during backwashing, resulting in good cleaning effect.
The quartz sand filter consists of a filtration system and a control system. It can effectively remove suspended solids in water and has a significant removal effect on pollutants such as colloids, iron, organic matter, pesticides, manganese, bacteria, viruses, etc. The filtration system usually consists of high-efficiency filtration units, three-way automatic valves, inlet and outlet water pipes, and sewage pipes. The high-efficiency filtering unit includes various filtering media. The control system usually consists of a PLC timing controller, a pressure difference controller, an electromagnetic three-way valve, and a control pipeline.
2. Precautions for the production of quartz sand filters
(1) The quartz sand filter requires a parallel tolerance of no more than 2mm between the outlet channel and the filter plate. The material of the filter cap is best made of nylon, followed by ABS. Due to the added filter material in the upper part, the compression load on the filter cap is extremely high, requiring high strength to avoid deformation. The contact surfaces (upper and lower surfaces) between the filter cap and the filter plate need to be equipped with elastic rubber pads.
(2) The levelness and unevenness of the quartz sand filter plate are less than ± 1.5mm. The structure of the filter plate is optimized for overall processing. When the diameter of the cylinder is large, or restricted by raw materials, transportation, and other factors, it can also be formed by splicing two pieces.
(3) The radial error of the through-hole machined on the quartz sand filter plate is ± 1.5mm. The increase in the fitting size between the filter cap guide rod and the filter plate through-hole is not conducive to the installation or fixation of the filter cap. The processing of through-holes must use mechanical equipment.
(4) The reasonable treatment of the joints between the filter plate and the cylinder of the quartz sand filter is particularly important for the air backwashing process.
