Iron manganese filter is a water filtration system that removes unwanted particleand other impurities from water. Both of these elements are commonly found inwater and could be responsible for a variety of problems in both domestic andcommercial settings. Some contaminants may cause an unpleasant taste,discoloration and stain clothing and fixtures. It can also cause blockages in thepipes and reduce water flow.

The iron manganese filter employs a mixture of different filtering materials toremove unwanted elements from the water. Media are usually layers of anthracitecoal, sand, and gravel. The anthracite coal layer is efficient in removing theunwanted content from the water. The sand layer removes finer particles that mayhave passed through the coal layer and the gravel layer supports the media bed.Sometimes zeolite or other media is added to increase the efficiency of filtrationeven more.
