Troubleshooting methods for fully automatic water softeners
Based on the equipment's operating status and fault symptoms, the need for maintenance can be determined from the following three aspects:
I. Abnormal effluent water quality
Phenomenon : Water hardness exceeds the standard (Test strip detection > 0.05 mmol/L), the water softening effect disappears.
Causes and Repairs :
Resin failure Replace after 3-5 years of use; if not yet at the end of its lifespan, it can be revived by acid washing (soaking in 5%-10% hydrochloric acid solution).
Insufficient amount of regenerated salt Check the salt level in the salt tank (it should be more than 1/2 full), and replace it with industrial salt with a purity of ≥99%.
If the hardness of the influent exceeds the standard, it is necessary to replace it with equipment with a larger treatment capacity or install pretreatment.
II. The equipment cannot automatically regenerate.
Phenomenon : Regeneration fails to start or the process is disordered when the time comes.
Causes and Repairs :
Control head failure Check the power supply (220V stable), press and hold the reset button to restart; if ineffective, replace the control head.
Pipe blockage: Clean the connecting pipes from the salt tank to the resin tank and the wastewater pipes to remove salt scale or impurities.
Time/flow rate setting error: Reset the regeneration time (avoid peak water usage) or flow rate parameters.
3. Equipment leakage
Phenomenon : Water dripping or seeping from interfaces, valves, or tank parts.
Causes and Repairs :
Leaking at the interface: Check if the sealing gasket is aging, replace it and tighten the screws evenly.
Leaking valve: Clean impurities from the valve core, replace the sealing ring or valve body.
Tank cracks: Small cracks can be repaired with epoxy resin glue; large cracks or aging require replacement with a new tank.
