Woven from highly durable cellulose acetate fibers, our cartridges provide a large surface area for suspended solids removal through physical filtration mechanisms.
Available in standard 2" x 20" dimensions, the compact cartridge format is optimized for skid-mounted and inline purification units. The cartridges can be easily installed and replaced to minimize downtime during routine maintenance. Multiple cartridges may also be plumbed in series or parallel based on flow rates and contaminant loading.
A key component integrating with our fiber bundle cartridges is the anthracite multimedia gravity filter. This self-cleaning filter utilizes a layered approach with different filter media graded by effective size – anthracite coal as the top layer due to its mechanical strength, specific weight and superior filtration properties. Below lies layers of sand and gravel to further polish the filtrate.
During operation, the anthracite captures and retains suspended solids like silt, clay and organic matter through physical and chemical interactions within its irregular fractures and voids. The randomized angular surfaces maximize surface area for attachment without risk of blocking. Meanwhile, its inert composition ensures no alteration or degradation of water chemistry during the filtration process.
For agricultural and aquacultural operations, anthracite multimedia filtration offers distinct advantages compared to simple sand filters. It can remove a wider spectrum of particulates including algae, iron, manganese and bacteria prevalent in agricultural runoff.
