The use of natural zeolites for water softening dates back thousands of years. Early civilizations observed how hard water impaired cleaning and incorporated zeolite-rich materials like ash into water vessels.

Microprocessor controls of the 1970s enabled fully-unattended regeneration cycles. Materials and processes also lowered costs significantly.

Today, multiple resin types tailored for specific applications deliver new levels of performance. Continuous regeneration addresses fluctuating flows better.

Looking ahead, energy-efficient designsreduce carbon footprint. On-demand models perfectly match regeneration to usage. New materials like carbon nanotubes may lower costs.
