Description

 

The working process of boiler water softener

Generally, it consists of the following five steps: backwashing, salt absorption (regeneration), slow flushing (replacement), and fast flushing. All processes of different softened water equipment are very similar, but due to differences in actual processes or control needs, there may be some additional processes. Any softened water equipment based on sodium ion exchange has been developed on the basis of these five processes. Automatic softener running program:

 

A. Operation

Under a certain pressure (0.2-0.6Mpa) and flow rate, the raw water enters a container (resin tank) containing ion exchange resin through the controller valve chamber. The Na+contained in the resin exchanges with cations (Ca2+, Mg2+, Fe2+...) in the water, so that the Ca2+and Mg2+ion content in the outlet of the container meets the established requirements, achieving the softening of hard water.

 

B. Backwash

After resin failure, backwash with water from bottom to top before regeneration. The purpose of backwashing is twofold. Firstly, by backwashing, the compressed resin layer during operation can be loosened, which is conducive to full contact between resin particles and regeneration liquid; One is to discharge the suspended solids and broken resin accumulated on the surface of the resin with the backwash water, so that the water flow resistance of the exchanger does not increase.

 

C. Regenerative salt absorption

The regeneration salt solution flows through the failed resin layer at a certain concentration and flow rate, restoring its original exchange capacity.

 

D. Replacement (slow cleaning)

After the regeneration liquid enters the exchanger, there is still salt liquid that has not participated in the regeneration exchange. Clean with clean water at a flow rate less than or equal to the regeneration liquid (slow cleaning) to fully utilize the regeneration effect of salt liquid and reduce the load of washing.

 

E. The purpose of regular cleaning (rapid cleaning) is to remove residual regeneration waste liquid from the resin layer, usually cleaning at a normal flow rate until the effluent is qualified.

 

F. Inject the regenerant tank with the required amount of salt water to regenerate the solution once.
